Update February 2023
The steering group is working with the consultants to draft the Hingham Neighbourhood Plan. Good progress has been made on drafting the Neighbourhood Plan and the policies within it. It is the policies within the Neighbourhood Plan which make it a planning policy document that will be used by the District Council in the process to determine planning applications in Hingham.
The parking study undertaken by AECOM (independent technical advisors appointed as part of the external funding package) is complete, the next step will be to consider if any of the potential solutions suggested in the study can be incorporated into Neighbourhood Plan policy.
The Design Code has been finalised by AECOM.
The Steering Group are looking at green spaces in Hingham to see if any can be designated within the Neighbourhood Plan and also Non-Designated Heritage Assets (not already covered by heritage legislation such as listed buildings).
The site assessment work being undertaken by AECOM should be completed over the coming weeks, this is for sites submitted during the call for sites process, when the steering group expressed a preference for sites to be put forward for community uses and potential car parking.
