Dates for your Diary
THE PUBLIC CONSULTATION ON THE DRAFT HINGHAM NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN WILL RUN FROM 3RD JULY TO 25TH AUGUST 2023.
At the start of the consultation period there will be a drop in exhibition event where you can view the plan, chat to members of the steering group and comment on the plan. This event is planned for Monday 3rd of July, 1pm-8pm at the Hingham Sports and Social Club. During the consultation, you can read a copy of the draft Hingham Neighbourhood Plan in the Hingham Library or online.
You can comment on the Draft Neighbourhood Plan via a physical response form or on the website. You can pick up the form at the drop-in event, from the library or from the Town Clerk. Return your completed form to the special post box by the public toilets in the Market Place. The online form will be available from 3rd July via a link on the home page of this website.
After this consultation, the Neighbourhood Plan will be revised and submitted for the examination process (this includes examination by South Norfolk Council). The plan will be revised again, based on the outcome of the examination recommendations. The final version of the Hingham Neighbourhood Plan will then be put to residents of Hingham for a referendum. If residents of Hingham vote to adopt the Neighbourhood Plan, it will become part of the statutory development plan for the area. Having a Neighbourhood Plan in place will generate more Community Infrastructure Levy money for the parish, and can be used for improvements to the Town’s community facilities. This will only happen if the Plan is voted for positively in the referendum and the community vote is a majority to adopt the plan.
