UPDATE JANUARY 2023
Work by the Steering Group aided by consultants Rachel Leggett Associates has been continuing in order to formulate the eventual policies to include in the Neighbourhood Plan. These policies have to be based on evidence gained from the community engagements held so far. Alongside this the Steering Group are in discussions with AECOM to amend proposed design codes and also with the AECOM officers tasked with looking at parking issues.
We are still awaiting site suitability assessments from AECOM of the four sites submitted, following the ‘call for sites’ last year.
There was no Steering Group meeting in December but there are two scheduled for January and the group are busy at present making site visits to other communities in Norfolk to try to gain better knowledge of what good development design might look like. Whilst it may appear to be a long and slow process to create a Neighbourhood Plan, the Steering Group on behalf of Hingham Town Council want to reassure the community that this work is making steady progress and we are determined to try to create a final document that can gain the approval of the residents by way of referendum. The Neighbourhood Plan will become an extremely significant planning guide for the use of Hingham’s benefit for the following 20 years so the detailed and finite work being done at present is being undertaken with that in mind.
Any additional views from the community can still be added and we welcome correspondence which can be sent via any of the methods listed on the CONTACT page.
